Bright future for Manx in space

Island companies could be in the forefront of the space race in forthcoming decades.

Excalibur Almaz have recently stated they aim to be offering flights to the moon by 2015 for anyone able to put up the ?100 million price tag.

And planetary scientist Dr Paul Schenk from NASA, who has been on the Island this weekend to deliver a lecture at the Manx Museum, says the way in which we explore space is definitely changing - with private companies set to play a much bigger role.
