Crutchlow Fifth at Assen

Ramsey resident Cal Crutchlow finished 5th at the latest round of the MotoGP Championship at Assen in Holland.

He produced another storming ride after being held up by a crash in the opening stages which dropped him down to 13th place.

Crutchlow worked his way through the field to cross the line in the same position he started from on the grid.

He was riding with a fractured heel and dislocated ankle from his practice crash at Silverstone a fortninght ago.

The race was won by Casey Stoner - Crutchlow remains fourth in the overall series standings.
