Minister says he regrets leak

Infrastructure minister David Cretney says he leaked a confidential document about plans to stop funding pre schools, because government was not communicating with the public.

David Cretney held onto his job after the leak was exposed by the constituent he'd tried to help

His offer to resign for the breach of the ministerial code was rejected by the Council of Ministers.

Mr Cretney says he regrets handing a secret paper on plans to end state funding of pre schools to Amy Burns, to help her campaign against closure.

He admits it was naive - but knowing what was on the cards, he was driven to help:
