Mental health service to be transferred

by isleofman.com 29th June 2012

A plan to transfer the Island's mental health service between two government departments will go to Tynwald next month.

Minister for Health David Anderson is presenting the order, which has already been agreed by the Council of Ministers.

If approved, responsibility for mental health would pass from the Department of Social Care to the Department of Health.

Mr Anderson says mental health is inherently linked with physical health and the move will bring its own benefits.
