All new (but old) in Andreas

by isleofman.com 29th June 2012

A retired teacher who lost her seat on Andreas Commissioners is back on the board.

Ann Elizabeth McDonald failed to be re-elected when she polled 222 votes in April’s local authority elections.

However, one of the five successful candidates, Aileen Fraser, then stood down after a member of the public made an anonymous complaint, claiming she had a 'conflict of interest' through her work as a special constable.

After taking advice, Ms Fraser decided she’d rather stay with the police force and resigned from the board.

Mrs McDonald has now been elected unopposed to the commissioners until April 2016.
