Children's Centre to run Jurby pre-school

The Children's Centre has stepped in to offer pre-school classes in Jurby from September.

The northern village had been left without an operator for the nursery, after government decided to stop funding pre-schools.

But only three, two-and-a-half-hour sessions will be run each week, far less than is currently offered.

Until now daily sessions at Jurby spanned the whole school day, and have been used by working parents.

Ruth Gale is a working mum from Jurby.

She says the new arrangment will not serve the whole community:
