Douglas based chartered accountancy firm, Harding Lewis Ltd., is pleased to announce the certification and graduation of three of the company’s employees following the release of this year’s ACCA, or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, exam results.
The awards place Harding Lewis amongst the most highly qualified medium sized accountancy firms and further reinforce the company’s reputation as a well established yet proactive organisation, which places strong emphasis on staff development. Harding Lewis is as a registered training office with the ACCA and is the Island’s sole member of the internationally renowned Academy for Growth.
Trainee accountant Phil Butler, an employee with Harding Lewis since 2008, achieved qualifications in F5 and F6 of the ‘Skills’ module of the globally respected qualification, allowing him to practice performance management and taxation principles relating to individuals, single companies, and groups of companies. Clara Whiteway, a trainee since just 2010, has already successfully entered into the ‘Skills’ module by passing exam F4, which concerns the legal frameworks surrounding financial accounting, auditing, taxation and various business vehicles. Chris Blackburn, an employee since 2007, celebrated the completion of his ACCA qualification with a perfect pass rate. He now joins over 147,000 ACCA members internationally as a fully qualified chartered accountant.
Each of three students enjoyed full sponsorship from Harding Lewis throughout the process of obtaining their qualifications, all of which were provided by Manx Professional Education Services, a Manx owned company which has recently been awarded platinum accredited status by the ACCA.
Director Andrew Gerrard commented on the students’ exam success: “We are all very proud of the achievements of our trainees. As a registered training office with the ACCA, we place a strong emphasis on the merits of consistent employee development throughout the office, both in terms of adding value to our clients and to our staff. Phil, Clara and Chris represent shining examples of the importance of hard-work and dedication in our industry and I believe these results reflect a promising future for all.”
