Island on flood alert

by isleofman.com 22nd June 2012

The Island is on flood alert this evening (Friday).

Infrastructure chiefs say there is a 'significant risk of flooding' likely to cause damage and/or disruption around the Island.

However, with the heavy rain due to ease early evening, we should avoid any major problems.

Road conditions are likely to stay very poor until then due to a heavy volume of standing water.

Alan Hardinge from the Department of Infrastructure says staff are working around the Island dealing with problems.
