Further call for pre-school policy change

It's not too late to change the policy on pre-school education on the Island.

That's the belief of former member of the Department of Education and Children Dudley Butt MLC.

Mr Butt resigned from his position in opposition to the department's plans to transfer pre-school provision on the Island into private ownership.

Yesterday, Mr Butt gave evidence at the the Social Affairs Policy Review Committee investigating if the Department of Education's new policy on pre-school education is value for money.

Whilst Peter Karran has now been sacked as education minister, it's been made clear that there will be no change in policy under the next minister.

Mr Butt believes it could and should be changed now:
