Chief Minister clarifies sacking reasons

The Chief Minister is insisting his version of events leading to the sacking of Peter Karran is correct.

Allan Bell removed his former education minister for failing to support government policy on buying a stake in Pinewood film studios, in a Tywnald debate this week.

Mr Bell says Peter Karran voted in favour of the deal when it was discussed by the Council of Ministers.

But speaking on Manx Radio, Mr Karran's Liberal Vannin Party chairman Roy Redmayne denied Mr Karran offered support for the studio deal.

He claimed objections were raised at a meeting of CoMIN last Thursday (June 14).

In a new twist, Mr Bell has dismissed that claim.

He says the Liberal Vannin Party is in a muddle over the dates:
