Local firm joins major global accountancy network

by isleofman.com 21st June 2012

Douglas-based chartered accountants Greystone have established an association with one of the world’s largest accountancy networks, linking up as a member of the Geneva Group International.

The connection gives Greystone Chartered Accountants an association with more than 330 independent member firms with more than 550 offices and 19,500 employees located in over 100 countries with a common goal of enhancing their international expertise for the benefit of their client base.

To celebrate the membership of Geneva Group International (GGI), Greystone hosted a reception for guests and clients at the Sayle Gallery in Douglas where a new exhibition has just started, focusing on the art of printmaking.

GGI is the 6th largest accountancy network worldwide, based on fee income, making it the largest alternative network to the “Big 4” currently represented on the Isle of Man. Greystone has its offices in Athol Street, Douglas.

“We are very pleased to begin this association with Geneva Group International,” said Greystone Chartered Accountants managing partner Guy Wiltcher. “We know that a considerable number of firms apply to join GGI, but only very few succeed in becoming members.”

GGI applies rigorous selection criteria before admitting new members and each new member firm is admitted only after a substantial due diligence exercise.

Greystone was required to meet a series of high standards, including a proven track record demonstrating “a proactive approach, absolute integrity and professionalism”.

Guy Wiltcher added, “In today's international markets, having a strong presence is essential for big and small companies. That's why international contacts are so important. An in-depth understanding of local legal and fiscal differences is a must for businesses to be successful in their cross-border activities.”

He said that businesses need access to professional and approachable experts in each country and added, “Geneva Group International has a worldwide alliance of well-established and experienced accounting, consulting and law firms that are committed to providing clients with specialist solutions for their international business requirements.

“Only firms providing the high quality standards and excellent client services are invited to join GGI. At Greystone we constantly strive for quality of service at the highest level, so this association is a good fit for both ourselves and GGI.”

GGI has created an international network of independent member firms which its feels are able to meet the many challenges faced by businesses in today's expanding markets. Although every member firm is unique and independent, the same high quality standards apply to each.

GGI is one of the world's leading international alliances with more than 318 independent, professional law, consulting and auditing firms in more than 100 countries throughout Latin America, North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Australia.
