No change to pre-school policy, says chief minister

A new education minister won’t mean a change of heart on privatising pre-school provision on the Island.

So says Chief Minister Allan Bell after Peter Karran was sacked yesterday for voting against ministerial colleagues on the issue of buying a stake in Pinewood Shepperton studios.

Mr Bell says he may appoint a replacement as early as next week – but whoever gets the job will have to stick with the policy that defined Mr Karran’s term as education minister.

The chief minister says it’s simply too late for any u-turn:
