Athol Ward by-election today

The vacant seat on Douglas Council will be filled by the end of today.

Five candidates are contesting a by-election in Athol Ward, called following the death of councillor Doreen Kinrade last month.

Businesswoman Karen Angela, corporate manager George Campbell, former mayors Inkerman Faragher and Michael Gelling and health care manager Kevin Oliphant-Smith are bidding to fill the seat.

The polling station at Willaston Methodist Church Hall is open from 8am to 8pm.
