Bus service restored after emergency gas repairs

by isleofman.com 20th June 2012

Major repair work to a gas escape at the junction of Brookfield Road with Parliament Square in Ramsey has been completed allowing the bus service on that route to be restored.

“While the work was taking place it was impossible for buses to negotiate the area and we apologise for the inconvenience caused to the travelling public as a result of the bus service being suspended,” said a Manx Gas spokesman.  “The work took longer than anticipated and while minor repairs will continue in the area they should not cause major disruption to the flow of traffic.”

He added: “While we are always mindful of the inconvenience such major repairs can cause,  the safety of the public always has to be our number one priority.”
