Changes to the Isle of Man Business Centre

by isleofman.com 20th June 2012

The Isle of Man Business Centre has recently reviewed its service offering, having conducted a survey to establish which facilities and services are most popular with the wide range of people using the Business Centre.  Based on the results of this work a number of changes to the way the Business Centre provides facilities and services in the future are being introduced.

The Business Centre has been open for some time and, together with The Mailbox, has created a great place to meet and conduct business in Douglas.  From the start of July 2012, the Business Centre lounge will be relocated to The Mailbox, within The Snug area to create the new Mailbox Business Lounge. This is a secluded area away from the main bar and restaurant and will continue to be an ideal place to meet and do business on the Island.  The new Business Lounge will be furnished to a high standard and will include an area of soft seating, tables for meetings or ‘hot-desking’, Wi-Fi access and a media station with newspapers, TV and business magazines to maintain the same level of comfort and practicality.

Use of The Mailbox Business Lounge will be free of charge and therefore available to everyone as soon as it opens.  Business Lounge users will benefit from an exclusive Mailbox Diamond Card which can be used to purchase food and drink in The Mailbox restaurant, the bar and also The Deli.  When the Card is used it will accrue bonus points and these will enable the cardholder to obtain a discount on future purchases.

The Isle of Man Business Centre will continue to provide and support the local business community with serviced office space with the current Business Centre meeting rooms and offices being relocated to the second floor of Capital House.  Five fully serviced offices of between 200 and 300 square foot each are being fitted out for short to medium term let from the end of July and the large presentations, promotional events and product launches which were previously hosted in the Business Centre can now be hosted in The Mailbox Business Lounge.

Confirming the changes Anthony Long, CEO of Capital International Group advised “In developing these new arrangements, we have tried to combine the attributes of the current business lounge with the networking benefits of being located in The Mailbox.  I am sure that when people see the new Mailbox Business Lounge, they will quickly see the advantage of the new layout and I hope that using The Mailbox Diamond Card will make the experience most enjoyable all round.”

We would like to thank those who have supported and continue to support the Isle of Man Business Centre; it has truly been a pleasure to provide a facility that we hope has and will continue to assist and encourage growth and diversification on the Isle of Man.
