Celton Manx is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the annual Victim Support Inter Island Conference, taking place on 21st June 2012 at the Sefton Hotel, Douglas.
Started in 2009, the conference provides the opportunity for representatives of Victim Support in the Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey, Scotland and Ireland to come together and share experiences and best practice, as well as hearing from a number of speakers.
This year’s guest speakers include Dr Kate Kirk, a psychodrama psychotherapist who has worked with the Isle of Man Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service for 11 years, Brian Heath of Victim Support Jersey who will be speaking about their role in the Haute de la Garenne enquiry and the Isle of Man Constabulary.
On the evening before the conference starts, there will be a sunset dinner at the Snaefell Summit restaurant to allow guests to network with their Celtic colleagues.
Victim Support Isle of Man Manager, Paula Gelling said: ‘We are delighted to have Celton Manx as sponsor for our Inter Island Conference. This event gives us the opportunity to hear the experiences of other branches of Victim Support and offer knowledge and support. On behalf of the Trustees of Victim Support, I would like to thank Celton Manx for its ongoing contribution.’
Celton Manx Executive Director, Bill Mummery said: ‘Victim Support carries out fantastic work in our community, in areas that are very sensitive and often difficult and upsetting to deal with. I am pleased that we are able to sponsor this event to give the dedicated staff an opportunity to come together, network and learn from each other. I hope that all of the visiting guests enjoy their time here on the Isle of Man.’
