Langness saga at an end

by isleofman.com 18th June 2012

The Langness saga is all but over!

Public rights of way at the peninsula have now been confirmed after TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson and his wife decided not to lodge a further appeal against a court ruling.

In April, Deemster Doyle upheld the public had a right to use established public rights of way.

A section of the path had initially been diverted in 2005 after the Clarkson family bought the lighthouse cottages, claiming walkers peering into their house were invading their privacy.

All paths are now open apart from a short section from the sea side of the Langness Lighthouse out to the fog horn, which will open once repairs to the footbridge have been completed.
