Mansion House dinner 'valuable'

Treasury Minister Eddie Teare was among top-table guests at Thursday night's prestigious Mansion House dinner in the City of London.

UK Chancellor George Osborne and the Bank of England announced plans to pump around ?80 billion into high street banks, to encourage lending and stimulate the UK economy.

Mr Teare says it was encouraging news which will be welcomed by businesses in the Island as well as the UK.

And he said it was a valuable occasion to promote the Isle of Man's role as an offshore financial sector:
