Bad weather defeats Balmoral's Island tour

by isleofman.com 15th June 2012

The visiting classic cruise vessel Balmoral, is no longer sailing from Douglas tomorrow due to bad weather.

She arrived to the Island today for the popular Round the Island tour on Saturday afternoon.

But bad weather in the Irish Sea over the past 24 hours is due to continue tomorrow and has resulted in the operator Waverley Tours cancelling the saing, with regret.

Balmoral's still expected to cruise to the Calf of Man on Sunday afternoon, when tickets from Saturday can be used.

The trip around the Calf will pass the Mona's Queen memorial in Port St Mary and pick up passengers at Garlieston.

The ship will be cruising around the Island’s shores for nine days between June and mid September offering four trips from Douglas and one from Peel, with another opportunity to sail round the Island on 15th September.

If ticket holders are unable to sail on alternative dates refunds will be given through the point where tickets were purchased.
