New Castletown Road Update 16:00hrs 15th June

by isleofman.com 15th June 2012

New Castletown Road, which has been closed all this week between Cooil Road and Annacur Lane, has reopened. The work by Haven Homes, the developers at Pulrose Farm, has now been completed.

Next week, from Sunday, 17th June, as previously advised, the Department of Infrastructure will be carrying out a major maintenance scheme between Saddle Road and Quarterbridge.

This work will take nine weeks and will involve upgrading the drainage systems, reconstructing the footways, installing a new controlled pedestrian crossing, and strengthening the carriageway.

Traffic will be managed using a one-way system which will only allow traffic travelling south, out of Douglas, to pass through the work area.

Traffic heading into Douglas from the south should use either Cooil Road/Vicarage Road, or Kewaigue and South Quay, to avoid delays at Groves Road traffic signals.
