Thirty-one teams that play in the Royal London 360° Under 11 Junior Football League attended The Bowl in Douglas recently to receive their end of season awards.
The junior footballers took part in a friendly tournament there before being handed their trophies and medals on the pitch in front of hundreds of proud parents and supporters. The ceremony follows another hard-fought season, where 31 teams in four mixed divisions played more than 651 games in their efforts to win their respective league title.
More than 400 boys and girls took part in the Royal London 360° Under 11 Junior Football League during the 2011-2012 season.
Keir Morris, Treasurer of the Isle of Man Junior Football League, commented: “Since Royal London 360° began its sponsorship of the Under 11 League in October 2009, it has gone from strength to strength and it is really encouraging to see how these young footballers are developing their skills and fitness, and growing in confidence all the time. The standard of junior football in the Isle of Man is rapidly increasing, and it is thanks to the support of Royal London 360° that this is happening.”
Royal London 360°’s Director of Marketing, Natalie Hall, commented: “Our support enables the Island’s young footballers to play on a weekly basis, including on Astroturf pitches so they can continue even when the weather is bad. Access to regular practice is vital if they are to develop and I am only too delighted that we are able to support such a fantastic organisation.
“Congratulations to all of the players who took part in the Royal London 360° Under 11 Junior Football League – they should all be very proud of themselves.”
