Share your memories of Bride School

by isleofman.com 13th June 2012

Andreas and Bride Schools are organising an open day at Bride School on Thursday 21st June.

The school will be open to past pupils from 9am to 6pm and would like to invite them to talk to camera about their time there.

These memories will then be turned into a DVD to celebrate more than 130 years of education on the site. The proceeds from sales will be given to a school in Jamaica through the Reverend Brian Evans-Smith, the Vicar of Bride, who is working tirelessly to support the school and has close links with the Caribbean island.

Bride School, which houses infants, will close this summer, it was announced in February. The school has just three pupils of school age and they will transfer to Andreas Primary School, with which Bride is merged, this summer.

An invitation-only church service, followed by tea, will be held in July to mark the school’s contribution to the life of the community.

For more information about the filming, contact Will Nelson on 880375 or drop in to either school.
