Award for QEII students

Five students from QEII have won the first ever United Nations Ozone Action award.

The pupils aged between 16-17, went to Sweden for the finals of the 2012 Volvo Adventure Awards.

The competition is the biggest global environmental contest in the world and put the Manx students fourth overall and the first ever winners of the inaugural Ozone Action prize.

Group member Alex Eaton says the accolade was in recognition of their project to reduce carbon emissions in the Western African nation, Gambia:
