Services won't be affected by job losses, says Shimmin

Economic Development Minister John Shimmin says job losses at Manx Gas won’t affect the services offered to its Island customers.

North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson quizzed the minister about the company’s planned redundancies in the House of Keys this morning.

Manx Gas says up to 15 jobs may go on the Island as its parent company tries to centralise some functions in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.

Mr Shimmin says the firm has given some assurances to the government:
