For Moore Stephens Isle of Man, leading providers of multi sector accounting, consulting and wealth management services, it was an exciting day in Athens yesterday at Posidonia 2012, the world’s biggest shipping trade show, when Mike Penning MP, British Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport, paid a visit to the Moore Stephens stand to chat with the seven Moore Stephens Isle of Man delegates, along with those from the Moore Stephens Greece and Moore Stephens London member firms. All three firms are marketing their services to the world’s shipping community at the biennial Posidonia from 4 to 8 June.
Penning is the Member of Parliament for the Hemel Hempstead constituency, first elected in May 2005. After the May 2010 election he was appointed as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport having previously served on the Health Select Committee, as executive member of the Conservative 1922 Committee, and was Shadow Minister for Health from 2007 to 2010.
"The show has already been a great success and meeting Mike Penning has certainly been a highlight," said Charlotte Easton, the marketing supervisor at Moore Stephens Isle of Man, "It's fantastic that our Isle of Man services are recognised on this level. And it turns out Mr. Penning is also a keen motorbike fan, so we enjoyed chatting to him about the TT Races back in the Isle of Man.”
Held biennially but for the first time at the brand new venue, the Metropolitan Expo Centre, Posidonia is the shipping industry’s biggest trade event with over 87 countries represented by 17,856 visitors and 1,858 exhibitors taking part in 2010
