The alternative torch relay

by isleofman.com 9th June 2012

If you didn’t get to see the Olympic torch relay last weekend, there’s a chance to see a torch taking a different route around the Island on Sunday.

One of the torchbearers, fencer Henry DaSilva, wants to give people in the far south, west and north of the Island the chance to catch a glimpse of his torch during an alternative relay.

It all gets going from the harbour masters office at 10.30am in Port St Mary and should end up north between 5.30pm and 6pm.

Route and approx times: Starts at 10.30 at PSM harbours office, Port Erin 11am, Foxdale 12.40pm, Peel 1.15pm, Kirk Michael 2.30pm, Ballaugh 3.10pm, Sulby 3.30pm, Jurby 3.55pm, Bride 4pm, Andreas 4.05pm, Ramsey 4.35pm, finishing at the Town Hall around 5.45pm.
