Do you remember Ray Amm?

by isleofman.com 9th June 2012

Ray Amm is a name which will evoke memories of TT fans for a certain age.

He only raced at the TT for four years in the early 1950s but during that time notched up three victories and two Grand Prix successes.

He lost his life racing in Augusta in Italy in 1955.

By conincidence, his great nephew - Tim Amm - was in the Island briefly during the TT when the Silversea Explorer cruise ship he works for visited Manx shores (audio of Tim and former tourism chief Terry Toohey).
