A Tynwald select committee has heard the former Education Minister explain his motives for supporting the Kirk Michael land swap.
The committee is investigating circumstances surrounding a deal in which the Department of Education and Children agreed to exchange a parcel of land required by developers at Douglas Road Corner for land next to the village primary school.
The three member committee set up by Tynwald in February, today took evidence from the minister who sanctioned the swap at the time Eddie Teare and Chief Executive of the Department of Education and Children, Stuart Dobson.
