Micky D grabs win number three

by isleofman.com 6th June 2012

Michael Dunlop has won his third TT, taking the chequered flag in the Supersport 2 race this evening.

In bright, sunny conditions which couldn't have been more different from this morning, the first bikes were away from the Grandstand at around 6.25pm.

After his brother William retired at Kirk Michael on the first lap, Michael Dunlop led for the remainder of the race, maintaining a comfortable margin of at least four seconds over Cameron Donald throughout.

An overwhelmed Dunlop paid tribute to his team afterwards: (play audio)

Cameron Donald picked up his third second place of the week, finishing 13 seconds behind Dunlop.

The battle for third was decided by the slimmest of margins, with Ryan Farquhar pipping Bruce Anstey by just 0.01 seconds.
