Notice of traffic disruption - Wednesday 6th June - due to delays in TT Race Schedule

by isleofman.com 6th June 2012

The public are advised to expect severe disruption to travel this afternoon, particularly on Douglas Promenade.  Please avoid Douglas Promenade between 5pm and 7pm if at all possible.

In order to assist commuters in their journeys home the crossing points and access corridors are planned to be opened at 5:00pm and traffic signals will be manually operated.  The Horse Trams will be suspended during the busy evening peak time. However congestion is inevitable and the public are advised to plan their journeys home to avoid the busiest times if at all possible or to make alternative arrangements for travel.

The current planned schedule is for crossing points and access corridors to close again at 6:00pm to allow the TT Zero race and practice sessions for Superbikes and Lightweights to take place this evening which means that it is unlikely that the course will open until 9:30pm.
