by isleofman.com 4th June 2012

Pupils at the Buchan School gathered to personally express their thanks to sponsors of the schools forthcoming Dinner Dance, to be held in a marquee in the school grounds on Saturday 16th June.

The children had hand written letters of thanks and were keen to present these to the sponsors.

The fundraising dinner dance promises to be an evening to remember with a sumptuous seven course banquet featuring cuisine from our Olympic nations.

The evening will feature some fabulous auction prizes including a Sunday afternoon at the Abbey Restaurant, Ballasalla, for 100 guests, with exclusive use of the venue to enjoy drinks on arrival and a delicious hog roast. Also, for the more adventurous there is the opportunity to bid for an exhilarating sight seeing trip on a privately owned rib for four people.

Chairperson of the Friends of Buchan (FAB) Mrs. Nicole Perry Ellis commented: "We are extremely grateful for the very kind generosity of all our sponsors and the donations received.  Fiona Tipper with Jo Baughan by her side and the FAB parent team, have been working tirelessly to put on this event and we are delighted by the support we have received.”

Mrs Hedley Headteacher added, “on behalf of the school community I would like to offer sincere thanks to both the event sponsors and the FAB parent team for making this idea a reality. The funds that will be raised will make a positive contribution to the educational experience of all our pupils, we all look forward to a very successful, unique occasion.”
