Enterainment galore at Port Erin fun day

Port Erin's traditional TT fun day is getting into full swing this afternoon (Monday).  

The event is based around the beach where local traders have set up stalls. A sandcastle competition, beach races and a five-a-side football tournament have been organised for the youngsters.


Later, there'll be live bands, a stunt show and fireworks to round-off the day.

The event's been a firm fixture in Port Erin since 2001 when TT was cancelled after the outbreak of foot and mouth.

It's now run by the local commissioners whose clerk is Michael Kewley.
He says the festivities go on well into the evening:
