IOMA Group raises ?850 for Alzheimer’s Society

by isleofman.com 1st June 2012

Local wealth management provider, IOMA Group has announced it has raised £850 for the Alzheimer’s Society. The sum was raised by IOMA Fiduciary and IOMA Fund and Investment Management staff who sold cakes to the other Group companies. The cake sale raised £425, which was then matched by IOMA Group as part of its ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility.

The Alzheimer’s Society is an organisation which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia across the UK and currently lists some 25,000 members. The society is just one of the many charities IOMA Group is supporting this year. Another fundraising idea encouraged by the charity is to hold coffee mornings in members’ homes, which IOMA Group then applied to its office.

Anne-Marie Cagliarini, Locality Manager of Merseyside and the Isle of Man Alzheimer’s Society commented: “the generosity of the people of the Isle of Man has allowed us to look at securing Employment Status on the Island enabling us to open an office here, which will help us to provide more support and information, and extend the services currently available.”

Amanda McDonnell, Event Organiser, also commented, stating “IOMA believes that giving back to the community is important and we are happy to help such a worthwhile cause as the Alzheimer’s Society as they look to expand to the Isle of Man to provide practical services and support for both people with dementia and their carers.”
