Oversby & Palmer Take Doubles at Pre-TT Classic, but Jamie Coward is 'Man of the Meeting'

by isleofman.com 31st May 2012

Held in brilliant sunshine, the Blackford's Pre - TT Classic Road Races, round six of the Duke Road Race Rankings 2012 saw some excellent racing around the 4.25-mile Billown Course in the South of the Isle of Man.

Alan Oversby and Chris Palmer both recorded two wins each, with Alan receiving the award for the best sounding machine - the fabulous 500cc MV Agusta!

However it was Jamie Coward who stole the show in the final race of the day for Post Classic Superbikes, when the Yorkshireman went head to head with Guy Martin, refusing to be intimidated by his presence and headed the TT
rider for most of the race and was leading on the last lap at Cross Four Ways when Martin attempted to take the lead crashing out in the process, thankfully unhurt.

Bill Swallow took the opening victory of the meeting bringing his total of wins to 15, equalling Bob Heaths record.
