by isleofman.com 31st May 2012

Tributes are being paid to Davy Jones, the Island's reigning golf champion, who was killed in an accident on Tuesday.

The popular 33 year old lost his life after his motorbike collided with a bin wagon at the end of the Cronk y Voddy straight just before 7am.

The wagon was stationary when the accident happened and all the vehicles were heading in the direction of the TT course.

Another man, Elliot Moore who was a friend of Davy's, escaped serious injury.

The road was closed for eight and half hours while police dealt with the accident and carried out crash investigations.
