Union writes to chief minister

by isleofman.com 28th May 2012

The leader of the huge UNITE union has written to the Chief Minister outlining his serious concerns about the future of public services in the Island.

Unite General Secretary Len McCluskey says he undersands the financial pressures the Island's facing.

But he's condemned what he calls 'ill-conceived recommendations' to out-source or privatise large swathes of public services.

Mr McCluskey has asked to meet Allan Bell and is warning the union's top priority is to defend its members' jobs.
