Island outbreak of mumps

Public health officials say they’re worried after a number of young adults came down with mumps in an Island outbreak.

The disease can cause severe complications in adults, and many 20 to 30 year olds won’t have been vaccinated against it.

Dr Parameswaran Kishore says a small number of people have been taken to hospital and the number of cases this year is around 20 times higher than last year.

He says the advice is simple:
