Kennaugh returns to UK after Giro exit

by isleofman.com 24th May 2012

Peter Kennaugh is back in the UK after dropping out of the Giro d' Italia yesterday.

The Onchan rider had been suffering from muscle problems in his upper leg, and pulled out before starting yesterday's stage

Sky's team manager David Brailsford told Cycling Weekly, "We didn't want to take any chances with him this close to the end of the race.

"With one eye on the Olympics we decided the best course of action is get him back to Manchester."
