Hospital superbug stats revealed

by isleofman.com 24th May 2012

The number of MRSA cases at Noble's Hospital has remained steady for the last few years.

That's according to data released by Health Minister David Anderson, in response to a House of Keys question for written answer from Onchan MHK Zac Hall.

Nine were detected at Noble's in 2011, the same as 2010 and one more than in 2009.

There were two in 2007 and six in 2008.

There were 40 cases of C difficile detected in 2011, 12 less than the peak in 2010.

The three years before that saw 14, 44 and 29 cases respectively.
