Campers warned of silent killer

by isleofman.com 23rd May 2012

The dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning are being highlighted for those camping at this year's TT.

The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service's campaign is focusing on gas camping stoves and lights, and barbecues.

A message on the service's Twitter feed says "Carbon Monoxide Poisoning is known as "The Silent Killer" have a look at this poster - Don't take risks when camping!"

A young girl lost her life in a camping accident in the UK recently, after a disposable barbecue was left smouldering in the front porch area of a family tent.
