Don't get stuck with a chewing gum fine

by isleofman.com 23rd May 2012

A packet of chewing gum could cost you ?50 in future, if you're caught dropping a piece on the streets of the capital.

Douglas Corporation are launching a campaign this morning (Wed) called 'Bin Your Gum'.

It's a bid to stop the costly mess and offenders will be fined on the spot. This has been highlighted in posters put up around the town to warn people to dispose of their gum properly.

Chairman of the Environmental Committee Ritchie McNicoll says he wants people to take pride in where they live.
