Peter Andre has tweeted "I am so absolutely gutted. One of the true musical legends whom I was honoured to be friends with."

Former Prime Minister Tony Blair, who counted Robin Gibb as a personal friend, has described him as "an exceptional and extraordinary musician and songwriter."

Locally the star has been praised for his charity work, especially for Isle of Man Hospice.

The 62 year old passed away yesterday after a lengthy battle with cancer.
