International Biodiversity Day

by isleofman.com 21st May 2012

A special walk to celebrate International Biodiversity Day takes place on the Island tomorrow (Tuesday).

The Manx Wildlife Trust, in association with the Department of Environment Food and Agriculture and Wildflowers of Mann, will be leading a group around Mooragh Beach in Ramsey to look at all manner of wildlife from the rare Manx cabbage and other coastal plants to marine life at the shoreline and in rock pools.

Marine officer at the Manx Wildlife Trust, Eleanor Stone, says it's a chance to enjoy the great variety of species you can find on the Island.

The event gets underway at 6.30pm regardless of weather by the MWT sign at Mooragh Shore opposite the new swimming pool.

It's free to attend but you will need your wellies!

More details are available on the Manx Wildlife Trust website: manxwt.org.uk
