Ramsey stay in front

There were victories for Ramsey, Valkyres and Cronkbourne in Sunday’s matches in the Standard Bank Premiership.

Ramsey stay top of the league after beating Castletown.

The Town made 169 with Wicus Wessels hitting 60 and Brian Arnold taking five for 35.

Good batting by the northerners saw them reach their target for the loss of five wickets.

Marc Pons-Burt cracked 49 and Rob Webber was 39 not out.

In a tight game at Marown, Cronkbourne overcame Crosby by four wickets.

The home side were dismissed for 159 – Kevin Kniveton struck a fine 70.

Carl Wagstaffe led the Douglas reply with 61 and Max Stokoe made 41.

Valkyres maintained their title challenge with victory over St John’s at Tromode.

Will Warwick hit 55 out of a total of 164 for six.

Alex Williamson led the Saint’s reply with 34, but in the end they were bowled out for 134 – a Valkyres win by 30 runs.
