Robin Gibb music 'so distinctive'

Tributes have poured in for the pioneer of disco who had battled ill health for several years.

In 2010, Gibb cancelled a series of shows after suffering from severe stomach pains while performing in Belgium. He went on to have emergency surgery for a blocked intestine.

Last month the singer fell into a coma after contracting pneumonia.

Robin Gibb last performed on stage in February in a concert for injured service personnel.

His friend and radio personality Mike Read says the Bee Gees music remains so distinctive.

MHK David Cretney and his family, met the Bee Gees in 1998 when, as Tourism Minister, he presented them with a Manx flag which they proudly flew above the stadium during a concert.

He’s described him as an ambassador for the Isle of Man who will be ‘sadly missed’.
