by isleofman.com 19th May 2012

One thousand youngsters will be competing in the 11th HSBC Manx Youth Games today.

School-children from 8 years old have been in training right around the island since the beginning of February for today's event.

11 sports will be staged at the National Sports Centre and other venues in Douglas.

The Opening Ceremony is at 10 o'clock and Manx Sport and Recreation Sport Development Manager Paul Bridson says this is the most popular part of the day for the majority of those taking part
