Island celebrates International Biodiversity Day

by isleofman.com 19th May 2012

There's a chance to find out more about the Island's biodiversity next week.

In order to celebrate International Biodiversity Day, a special walk is taking place in the North of the Island.

It's been organised by the Manx Wildlife Trust in association with the Department of Environment Food and Agriculture and Wildflowers of Mann and will be on Mooragh Beach on Tuesday 22nd May.

The event gets underway at 6.30pm - regardless of weather - by the MWT sign at Mooragh Shore opposite the new swimming pool. It's free to attend but you will need your wellies!

More details can be obtained via the Manx Wildlife Trust website manxwt.org.uk

Biodiversity Officer from DEFA, Aline Thomas, says the evening will aim to highlight the wildlife on the shore.

Marine Officer for the Manx Wildlife Trust Eleanor Stone from the Manx Wildlife Trust says it should be a good evening for looking at Marine life
