An inquest has been told massive blunt force trauma caused the death of a 91-year-old Ballaugh woman.

Freda Starkey was killed in a road accident at Bishopscourt on the Kirk Michael to Ballaugh Road on May the sixth.

Mrs Starkey, of Ballaterson Fields, had lived in Ballaugh for more than 30 years and was described as a ‘much loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who will be greatly missed by her family and friends’.

Coroner of Inquests John Needham opened and adjourned the inquiry this afternoon (Friday) and offered sincere condolences to her family and friends.
