Fifteen jobs to go at Manx Gas

by isleofman.com 18th May 2012

Manx Gas has confirmed 15 jobs are to go in the Island.

Staff have this week been sent letters warning their jobs are at risk in the current efficiency drive.

It's understood the letters have been sent to employees in all departments, from engineering and finance to customer service and switchboard.

A consultation is underway which could result in staff re-applying for fewer jobs under a new structure at Manx Gas.

Commercial director for parent company International Energy Group John Davies says meetings have been held this week to keep staff informed at what he says is an understandably difficult time.

Manx Gas says it won't comment further until the consultation is complete and staff have been informed of the outcome.
