The funeral of former Mayor, popular Douglas councillor Doreen Kinrade will be held this morning (Friday).

Mrs Kinrade died last week – less than a fortnight after being re-elected in Athol Ward which she had represented for nearly 30 years.

The funeral will take place at St George’s Church in Douglas at 11 o’clock this morning.

One of her close political allies through the Manx Labour Party, MHK David Cretney, said she was a councillor with a caring touch.
